I know I have had the same CW for a long time, but that’s because I haven’t stepped on a scale in 6 weeks! I had foot surgery on December 9 and haven’t been able to walk since then. But that all changes tomorrow, when I am FINALLY allowed to walk again! I’m so excited. No matter what the number on the scale is, I don’t care. That’s my starting spot and it’s only going to get better from there.

Happy fasting!

Answer

81 hours into my 120+ hour fast.

I woke up feeling more energetic than yesterday despite not sleeping as well (ketosis = peeing out a lot of fat lol 2x in the middle of the night). No lightheadedness this morning… probably because I’ve fully transitioned into heavy ketosis and my body has enough energy from the fat being burned. Don’t even feel like I need electrolytes at all this morning. But I’ll probably take in some after my workout.

My body has shrunk. The food baby is completely gone. The energy I was spending digesting has shifted back to other processes, which is nice. It feels like my brain is getting more energy than before, in the heavily fed state.

I’m having some black tea this morning instead of coffee since I noticed some transient rashes on my body last night before bed: oxalates…? They disappeared this morning, but having tea nevertheless.

Type water, black coffee, tea, lemon juice (for oxalate dumps) and LMNT

Context started Saturday night, ends Friday morning/afternoon

Length 120+ hours

Why? Gut rest, autophagy, mental clarity and vanity

Notes Hunger was nonexistant as soon as I hit the 36 hour mark of the fast as expected. It is going well. I already knew it gets easier as soon as I’ve made it through the first 36 hour hump. I feel good. My body feels like it’s back to it’s normal size. My brain feels clear and focused. I’m ready to take on the day.

I’m into year 3 of fasting on and off but even when not fasting I get exercise in which really helps keep the weight off. I’ve really struggled getting into the 145lb. My weight fluctuates between 147 and 155lb.

This time around when im struggling in my 20:4 fast I drink a diet soda to ease the cravings, been really helpful whereas I only used to drink water and broke my fast early by eating due to serious craving .. being kinder to myself this year.

2.5 weeks into my latest IF session, fluctuating between 18-20 hour fasts. I was losing at a great pace up until Saturday when my weight jumped up 2 lbs and has barely gone down, despite eating high protein/low carb and low calorie. Trying to just stick with it and ignore fluctuations since I know fluctuations are expected, but it’s so frustrating!
