I’ve been 16:8 IF now for about 2 weeks with some less-strict days here and there on the weekend. I’m not sure what I think…at first I was excited because this seemed like a simple lifestyle that would help me eat better and maybe lose some weight (I want to lose 20-ish lbs). But the more I read and learn, the more complicated it seems to get…I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. I haven’t lost anything, but I didn’t expect to yet. Maybe today is just a bad day, I don’t know.
SW: 80kg
CW: 72kg
GW: 60kg
16:8 but dabble in 18:6 and 20:4 (even a few OMADs!!!) from time to time.
Have lost 8kg since starting in December. It’s slow and steady. I want to make sure I am able to maintain the weight loss after losing the weight but I think this is a lifestyle change.
My appetite is improved and am eating less and feeling full sooner. It’s so weird to look at chocolate and say, not now. I still eat junk food but I am weighing everything and keep track. it keeps me on the straight and narrow. I want to enjoy the food I am eating, just being more mindful.
I have issues meeting my protein goals too. I add a lot of tofu and other meat to salads and that helps. I just discovered baked tofu. toss it in a sauce or even that popcorn seasoning an bake or fry it til it is crunchy. I eat it as a snack and so good and satisfying!!
How come I’ve been OMAD for two months and have only lost 8 lbs? Defeated, last week, I started back to 16:8. I’m on myfitnesspal to track my calories and it’s a little over 1200 calories. I even stopped drinking a glass of wine with dinner every night. No, I’m not working out, but will soon. I do have 3 teaspoons of ice cream every night in a small container. I stick to black coffee, water, tea, and only during my eating window, do I permit splenda.
I know we’re not supposed to compare rate of loss to others, but it’s so frustrating (still inspired by the stories and pics) that I don’t see any difference.
Any thoughts are welcome.
Had some great chicken and veggies for lunch today. I only started recently and I am down 6 pounds already. I heard that you lose more weight in the beginning, must be true but it’s also super motivating. The biggest hurdle for me has been to ride out my hunger but seeing the number on the scale change is making it easier to ride out that hunger.
