Answer

Type: generic. Black coffee when I wake up, then water with a bit of Mio in it for the rest of the day.

Context: 16/8. Feeding starts at between 12:00 and 12:30, ends between 8:00 and 8:30pm.

Length: 16 hours

Why: To lose some weight and help me reset.

Notes: I had been thinking about IF for a while. Tried it with Keto once but couldn’t maintain it due to a variety of issues. Now was a good time to retry and just eat vs getting too far into my own head about food. Life has been stressful but I’ve carefully selecting what I can get irked over. Missed gym (CF) my first day due to an issue I had to attend to. Worked out last night in a pretty cardio heavy event and felt good about it, no issues. I might move my feeding window out until 1pm so I have more time after gym to eat, I am home from gym at 745 and feeding ends at 830. Otherwise feeling good.

I finally took the plunge and tried intermittent fasting back in Sept 2021 when I had achilles issues.I intended to only do it for 2 weeks… Fast forward 4 months later and I made it a lifestyle. I’ve never felt better 😀

Answer

Currently on hour 16 of a 20 hour fast. Considering extending to 42 hours but unsure since it would be my second long fast of the week. Water/unsweetened tea only

Doing it for weight loss, GI benefits, mental health and general health. I’ve just been feeling terrible over the last few months and IF has helped that in the past.

Been doing 20:4/OMAD since a couple of days before New Year’s, my goal is to lose about 30-35 lb total. So far I’ve dropped 7 lb but I’m sure much of that is water weight. I feel pretty good and have been (cheating?) supported by drinking carbonated sparkling and mineral water here and there which seems to sate my soda cravings. I’ve done some IF in the past and am hoping to stick with it long term. Most days are OMAD but here and there I’ve had a juice or small snack within a 4 hour window of my main daily meal. Let’s keep it up!

Daily Fasting Check-in!

Answer

• Type of fast: IF 16:8

• Context of fast: I’m on day 4. Granted I did this last year and dropped 20 lbs in 2 months. Fell off the wagon hard due to battling depression with work

Length: 16:8, give myself 5 days on and 2 days off (Friday and Saturday)

Why: want to drop weight and look semi decent again. Was 185lbs at 15% body fat before covid happened. Sitting at 220 right now and alot fatter.

• Notes How is it going so far? Any concerns? Insights to share?

This has been difficult. We’ve got 2 kids and I work a fairly high level role in my organization which has me in meetings all day and scrambling for a break sometimes.

I’m up at 545-6am, take a pre-workout and workout from 630-8am. 1 hour weight training and 30 minutes cardio. Then I basically guzzle water until 1130am and get a shot if espresso in. After work 6pm ish, play with the kids and sneak in a final meal before 730pm. This sometimes gets pushed to 8pm. I need to get better on eating right in my window.

I’m also finding it difficult to eat regularly within my 8 hours, but this may have to do with me binging and stocking up on food

Anyone have any advice that follows a similar schedule?

Answer

20:4 water, keto, weight loss goal

Question: I had an easy time getting back on schedule after the holidays last week. But this week I’ve had terrible acid reflux. It usually starts 5-6 hours after my last food intake. I usually stop eating at 2pm, so it’s 6-7 pm when I have bad gas, and painful acid reflux.

Taking 2 tbs acv in 20 oz water hasn’t helped.

I can’t blame it on holiday indulgences, all that should be out of my system by now. I’m not eating anything different than my normal diet. I get plenty of water.

Any suggestions of what I can do for my unhappy tummy? Perhaps Pink Himalayan sea salt? Magnesium supplements?

Answer

OMAD, water, black tea, Coke Zero. I have macadamia nuts now to bump up my OMAD, yay! Macadamia nuts are nutrient dense? I am down .20 from yesterday. Slowly, but surely. Looking forward to getting out of the 210s.

Answer

Type: First drink is Apple Cider Vinegar with lukewarm water, rest of the fast includes 2 cups or Black Coffee.

Context: Break the fast at 1 PM, resume at 8 PM.

Length of fast: Started with 16 hours a day, pushing towards 18 hours.

Why: I fall in the skinny fat category, 174 lbs with 27.2% body fat. Goal is to reduce weight below 160 lbs with fat less than 20%.

Notes: I’ve never been big fan of breakfast, so it was easy to quit it completely. Love the last 3 hours of the fast, can feel new things in the body. It’s only been the 3rd day and I can already notice a difference in focus and concentration during the work hours.

Answer

Y all amazing .

Type Of fast: OMAD I eat breakfast and then forget about food. I work in a fast food restaurant and if I open the door to eating a regular lunch or dinner it’s pretty hard to eat healthy. So I figured I ll cook food for breakfast at home then fast the rest of the day.

I ate at 9 am and went to work … and then around 9:30 pm I was so hungry I had some food at work. Like 2 cups worth of food… now sipping tea and enjoying updating . Even though my fast wasn’t perfect I am proud of the progress.

Why? Currently 249 lbs on a 5”4 frame . I am done I want to feel good and look good

How is it going : day one. I am alive

Answer

Made it to day 7!!!! Felt basically awful from day 2 to 5. Added some salt and electrolyte mix to some of the fasting periods. Had some pretty wild stomach/bathroom events. Day 1 and day 6,7 have been much better so far.
