My body works better when I do a 16:8 hour fasting, with only water and magnesium chloride during the fasting period. I don’t even take other electrolytes anymore. After a lot of testing I finally discover that my body tolerates well from 14 to 19 hours fasting, but not much more. I’m 180 cm, 70 kg. So I don’t do this for loosing weight but because I want to help autophagy and mantain weight.
I’d really appreciate if someone could upvote my comment since I need +10 to create my first post in the sub talking about all my experiences and how I overcame troubles.
-TYPE of fast: An alternate switch off between eat-stop-eat and Alternate Day fasting (which is basically the same thing)
CONTEXT: Tomorrow until the end of the year! (About a month ish?) I did zero week last week which confirmed to me that I’m able to do alternate day fasting for a week.
WHY: I’m working towards enlisting into the US Air Force and I need to lose weight to qualify.
NOTES: I’ve lose 9 pounds so far! It may be from a month ago or so, I lost my scale so I’m not sure. But I’m exercising 30 minutes every day and I would like to hydrate more often. I’m also drinking Meta Mucil pills to assist in fiber intake and it helps food intake when I should be cutting back. (Also helps with bowel movements LOL). I recommend it!
Day 2I don’t know what I’m doing but this is a description, I’m completely new to this:
type: food intake
Context: 11am to 6pm day 2 - every day
Length: 7 hours
Why: get control over grazing, lose weight
Notes: this seems too easy a solution to lose weight 😁. I’m eating what I want, generally three times over 7 hours with drinks of tea/water any time in 24 hours.
Starting my IF journey back up again. Decided last night I would stick to it. Stopped eating/drinking at 10 last night. Waiting until noon to eat today and then will up through 8 to get on track for a 16:8.
The hardest part for me is going to be the lack of coffee in the morning. I really don’t enjoy black coffee, or even just sugar - I definitely prefer a flavored creamer. Drinking water and unsweetened tea instead.
Putting off eating for a few hours in the morning won’t be a big deal. It’s only in the last year or so I even started eating breakfast.
I am doing a daily 18:6 for better health and weight loss. I formally began nearly a month ago, track calories and aim for a deficit daily, and have had non scale victories like losing inches, losing my bloat, and feeling focused at times. I may have lost weight. I don’t have a scale. I have ensured that my electrolytes are good. But I don’t seem to have enough energy to play tennis, which I do at the end of my fasting. I hope my body adjusts to this in time.
