Starting today! 16:8. Just a quick question, is it advisable to fast 7 days a week? Would someone get benefits from just 5 days? I plan on 7 days a week, but I’m also wondering if I can get a bit of wiggle room if I become discouraged. My goal is weight loss and overall health benefits.
I just ended a usual 16:8 fast till this evening! I drink only black coffee and water. Really wanted to lose the amount of weight I gained after stopping smoking. It is working! (Still not believing myself, since I tried many things before).
Even though it is not for everyone, IF helps me control myself and learn new things about myself - how much willpower and perseverance I can have if I really commit to my goal.
Today is 1 week since starting IF. 18:6 on Tuesday-Wednesday & Friday-Sunday. 24:0 on Monday & Thursday. So basically, 2x 48hr fasts during the week and then eat in the evening on the other days. Generally just watching what I intake for carbs/calories/sugar during the other days’ eating windows. Somewhat active lifestyle but no real exercise lately.

It really is a mindset I realized. I used to just eat whatever, whenever. This is helping with self discipline and portion control of course. I get hungry during a fast but then just work or focus on something else. Have been feeling fairly productive, surprisingly!
I wonder if anyone has a similar regiment and how it’s working for them?

Day 12:
I completed my second 24 hour fast for the week yesterday. They seem pretty easy and I keep myself busy with work/hobbies.
Been averaging between 1200-1400 calories a day according to Lifesum since I’ve started. Have a hard time hitting 1200 calories on days i fast for 24 hours and then eat dinner. I get too full and don’t want to push myself to eat more.
I’m on the struggle bus though bc again, the scale sucks and I haven’t lost anything.
Today is Veterans Day and our tradition is to go around town and enjoy the deals for free coffee/food/etc offered to veterans. We might go to Applebees for dinner but that’s the only plan for today, since SO had to go into work today. Usually we partake in happy hour(s) too but since I’m doing no-beer November, that’s out. Feeling overall pretty bummed right now.
