16/8 ideally, but most working days it becomes 18/6 to match my working schedule. Fasting from 8pm to 2pm the following day. Beverages while fasting are black coffee and not any flavored kind and mostly water. I want to change my physique for the better as I say farewell to my 30’s and grow older, at one point I had upper and middle abs but struggled to get the lower abs to show and that was my peak physique. I can do it better this time. So my first day I noticed that I felt hungry during the day while i was fasted, but once the second day started hunger just wasnt an issue, and I am noticing a spike in energy during the last hour or two if I do 18/6. Also euphoria hits pretty hard in those last hour or two while fasted, like a high and its cool. Weighed myself yesterday on my third day of IF and Ive dropped almost four pounds and got to around 171 with a starting weight of 176. This week Im adding exercise back in my schedule so Im looking forward to seeing more progress by Sunday.

27h into a 72h water fast. No hunger pangs, despite going supermarket shopping for items on special that weren’t food related.

I grabbed some end of the day discounted salads so was thiiiiiiiis close to caving in and settling on OMAD for the day. But I didn’t get home til 8pm and wanted to commit to my goal of no nighttime eating. I mean, breaking one rule is still better than breaking two.

Bring on tomorrow!

I just broke my first fast ever!! Starting with 13 hours - I plan to do 24 hour fasts when I have breaks from nursing school. All I had was seltzer water. I need to change my diet to have more veg and protein and I need to lose weight - I’m not very number or appearance focused atm but I really want to reverse my (thankfully very mild) diabetes and stop taking my hypertension meds.

I’m also super curious about the autophagy stage of fasts and I want to read more research about it. Here’s to day one!

Fast—20:4. Drinking Water and Coffee no food.

CW: 265. GW: 199.

This is day 2. Eating window is 1 pm to 5 pm

Primary objective is to lose weight. All good so far. I have done one off fasts for the last year or so, but never tried to stick to 20:4 OMAD for a period of time.

Answer

22 hours in to a 32 hour fast, water and black coffee only. I usually do OMAD and eat dinner every night, but social plans Sunday morning meant I had to adjust- really it’s just an excuse to fast longer than usual and build up my stamina!

Last night was the first time I felt serious hunger pangs in any of my days fasting, it kept me up for about an hour when I tried to go to bed. I think it’s because the meal I had between fasts (brunch with friends) was carby and included alcohol. Just a reminder to myself how important nutrition is during re-feeds.

I was hoping to try my first 48 hour fast this week (dinner tonight to dinner Wednesday night) but after struggling through this 32 hour fast, I am feeling discouraged. I’ll plan a great meal tonight to break 32 hours and then see how I feel tomorrow.

Happy fasting!

Happy Monday everyone 😃

I had a great weekend, went out and had prime rib on Saturday. Then, made a roasted boneless leg of lamb and grass fed tri-tip roast on Sunday. Had an amazing meal and started my fast Sunday afternoon. Found raw milk kefir, yay! They label it as pet food since I’m not in California lol.

I’m going through a major detox this year and it seems that extended fasts are what liberates the stuff I’m trying to detox from. So, I’m back at it.

Type: black coffee, tea, lemon water, LMNT and potassium/magnesium electrolyte water at night

Length 72 hours

Why? Detox, mental clarity, energy

I’ve been so well fed these past 2 weeks that this feels like one of the easiest fasts I’ve ever started. But wish me luck 🙏😃
