Day 23 out of 40, What have I learned?

Hi everyone! I am currently on Day 23 out of a 40 day fast. I have lost just over 40 lbs and I just wanted to share some of the things I have personally found on my journey: 1. You guys have been such an amazing support. Seriously seeing all your pictures and reading all of your posts has kept me going and that is such an important part of this! 2. Food will be there on the other side! Now this might sound so obvious but there were times that I just had that had these massive cravings and my mind was telling me that I was missing out but I survived and I think that I am now stronger willed because of it. 3. The Scales are your best friend. Get on the scales. Every day! Seriously do it! And write your weight down. It is just a totally different experience when you have a visual aid. 4. People can be a lot more supportive than you might think. I have had some fantastic help from my friends, family and even colleagues at work. Daily check-ins, motivational talks and just hearing: You look great has just been absolutely amazing! 5. Listen to your body! It truly is a really well optimized machine that has subtle and not so subtle signs of whether or not you are doing the right thing. 6. In the time you would normally spend eating, try and better yourself by doing something new and challenging. Something that you normally wouldn’t make the time for. Read that book you bought but never read. Start a blog or Reddit thread (I did and it is awesome!) 7. Have fun guys! Seriously, everyone has different reasons for doing this but don’t worry about what anyone else is thinking. I guarantee you most people are in awe of what you are doing! I hope I could help some folks out because lord knows you guys have done so much for me! Thank you all so much, you are such an amazing community!!!

I’m on day 25 of 30. Water, tea, occasional bone broth, Himalayan salt. Love finding this post and knowing there’s a couple of you right there with me. It’s been amazing. Such great mental clarity. Saying a prayer for you two. I’m down 34, 220 to 184. I’ve been hungering for lamb, so I’m actually going to go buy one from a local farmer, slaughter and butcher it myself. Will take a few days to refeed gradually, but a lamb feast is waiting. Wanted to reset my attitude towards food, and this feels appropriate.
