Day 4

I’m so hungry!!! My stomach is growling so fricking much. I wanna order some food. Should I break the fast? lmfao. my goals were to connect to God, lose weight and fit in my old clothes again. Should I just not force myself to continue? The first three days weren’t bad. I wasn’t hungry at all. Today, my stomach can’t stop growling and I’m always dehydrated. I need some motivation to continue, but I can always buy the same brands I used to wear but in my new size. I can always just meditate to relax too. I didn’t pass any parasites or worms and it makes me think that I don’t even have any. I keep having diarrhea or poop that lack fiber. I really want to quit but I want to brag about my long fast. 4 days of fasting is nothing to brag about.

Answer

Seems you’re fasting for all the wrong reasons. Motivation of weight loss and bragging rights will only lead down a dangerous path. This is a spiritual and healing journey.

To answer your question; you know your body better than anyone on this sub. Listen to it. If you can’t differentiate between cravings /occasional hunger pangs against starvation. You should probably do some smaller fasts to learn your body.

Stay safe

Answer

Yikes. You claim you want to connect with God and at the same time want to brag about how long of a dry fast you can do? And you think 4 days of dry fasting is “nothing to brag about?” It’s not about bragging as it is. Based on this post it sounds more like you have priorities with vanity and image than actual spiritual reasons.

Answer

I believe that hunger pains this deep into the fast indicates your bowels are not empty (assuming you have not ingested anything at all). Some recommend doing an enema if that’s the case. Light exercise and massaging the lower stomach could help too.

I do a liquid (either broth or juice) fast for a few days prior and a saltwater flush the morning prior (making sure to rehydrate all day after before beginning the fast the next day) to try to avoid this.
