Day 5 Dry Fasting

I started to post my progress only on Day 4 just to make sure that I have actually fasted. In my experience, fast below 2 days does not have much sustainable weight loss effect, I 've done it 2 - 3 times, it was frustrating. Now that I'm sure that I've overcome the 48h hurdle, I post my progress to motivate my fellow fasters. Last night (day 4) was quite a struggle, my sleep was a stop-n-go every 2 - 3 hours. While I was lying in my bed, I read through the sub r/foodporn. The only pictures catching my eyes were those of ramen, morning juice, and salads with lots of juicy green. Especially disgusting were the pics of fried something (wings, calamari...) or cakes. I suppose this comes from my current longing for water. I was thinking of the mineralwater ice cubes in my fridge the whole night. This morning, the scale showed 74,1 kg at 9:00. Down 1,7 kg from yesterday and 7,2 kg from SW 81,3. Now that's a motivation booster! It's a sunny day, snow still crisp and blending my eyes, air is fresh, so I'll go for a walk of about 10000 steps. Quite sure I'll manage the dry fast today.

if the goal is fat loss then youll do yourself a massive favour if you avoid carbs for at least a week into the refeed

and if you really have to eat carbs then eat very little of something that spikes blood sugar a couple of times per day before you go into the regular diet. It should offset the insulin sensitivity a little bit. ex. in the sidebar study they drank a teaspon of juice every hour for 2 or 3 days.

Also good work so far!

Not sure I agree with fasting less than 2 days offers no sustainable weightloss. I’m doing a daily 22 hour dry fast with a 2 hour feeding window and the weight is flying off!

But congrats on your progress regardless.
