Be careful of what you ask, as you will surely get it...
I complained in a previous day report that I was disappointed with the lack of internal heat on this fast as if my body was just not getting after it!
And tonight, in this past hour, my furnace has kicked on – whew! I'm so glad this is winter and it's cold outside. It's a welcome return, with burning sensations mostly in and around my thoracic core, especially felt in my lower and mid thoracic spine as well as in the diaphragm and up into my solar plexus.
One other thing to note – I've regained near complete elimination of muscular tension and what is likely chronic inflammation. For example, I couldn't squat with my heels on the ground and have my ass nearly touch the floor, now I can. Same for full lotus. Also, I give myself my own chiropractic adjustments as simply as lying on the floor and rolling on my spine – I can crack nearly every vertebrae all the way down to my tail bone.
This looseness and flexibility is what I love most about fasting. It's also what I hate most about refeeding, as this is one of the felt measures on my body which accurately reflects the levels of physical debasement resulting from lower quality nutrition (less than one's own body reserves) when eating again after breaking a fast. You can learn how to really dial in your food choices by seeing which selections provide the least reduction in physical flexibility and re-inflammation.
As to my current emerging symptoms on Day 7:
* My tongue continues to clear the white coating and plaque; it began at the front side edges and now the tip is included.
* Kidney (urination) function remains regular and at a consistent volume.
* Some infrequent and minimal heart palpitations and felt cardiac irregularities earlier today (this is common for me), but nothing much to remark about.
* mouth is getting drier and an occasional lump in the far back of the throat (it dissipates with swallowing) arises from time to time now.
* Feet and hands are trending colder at a constant in step with the heat rising in my core.
As to weight loss: my evening weigh in tonight at 8:24 pm registered 149.0 lbs, a 2.6 lbs loss from yesterday's evening weight of 151.6 lbs at 6:55 pm.
I was imagining going for the complete three phases in this fast, as regards my issue being fully resolved, and would be more encouraged to go that distance if these above symptoms are the onset of the 2nd acidotic crisis.
I was able to push a few business appointments from this coming week to the next, but still have three scheduled calls to deal with on Tuesday and Thursday. I'm not sure what talking will be like but I certainly will not be on video. We will see what happens.
If the internal heat continues to burn at this rate, or hotter, I'll get a 5 gallon bucket of ice and go to the spillway of our fresh water springs tomorrow morning to douse myself with spring fed ice-water. This will be my first dousing and I'll need the ice because even though it will be in the 40s F (5 C) outside, the spring water is at a constant 70 F (21 C) and simply not cold enough.
Good night.
Answer
are you on hard or soft dry fast? if you are on hard then talking/meeting gonna be a shock for others - I made some voice recordings and scared the shit out of myself even. the video meeting would probably make someone call you an ambulance. i looked 20yrs older on day 8. if you are on soft dry and you really need to talk then munching on ice cubes and spitting the water out 4-6hrs before the meetings would help. i was 7 days on hard dry and without knowingly had chewed my cheek insides so much that the spit was bloody when I started munching. damn ice was like cosmic mouthgasm. day 7 to 8.5 the body heat kept rising so towards the end I filled the bathtub with circa 45f water, ice cubes, and few ice blocks and dropped my torso in the water every 10 minutes for a minute keeping my freezing arms and legs out. crazy shit :) good luck!
