Did I just break my fast?

Newbie here, been at it for two weeks. Anyway I was just feeding my son and couldn’t remember what fruit I cut up (pears or mangos) so I took a bite not thinking. Literally a tiny piece of mango about 1/4 inch square. Was this enough to break the fast? I’m not supposed to eat till 11:30am

Answer

In these situations, I like to get my stomach suctioned by a medical professional as a safety measure. Just tell them your eating window doesn’t open til 1130 and you’re worried about your fast, they’ll get you right in!

I feel like this whole thing is getting outta control. Just take some deep breaths, you’re gonna do fine.

I like to think of eating like filling a car up with gas. In a normal eating routine, you’re like a driver who doesn’t let your car get below 1/4 of a tank. In IF, you basically try to run the car on fumes before you fill it up again. If I put a gallon of gas in it (a snack during your fast) I can go a few more miles. I’ve broken my fast. But if I pop open the gas cap and squeeze in an eye-dropper of gasoline (tasting a sauce once while cooking, testing a tiny piece of fruit, the tiny amount of oil in black coffee), the car’s not even going to register that. That eye dropper of gas isn’t going to get the car any farther.

Answer

90% chance you break your fast, but just get over it and start again tomorrow, we all make mistake, mine was to drink a black coffee, that technically doesnt break it but the adrenaline responde can trigger insulin

Bottom line, a few hours wastes wont do much in the grand scheme of thing

Answer

Yes, but no. You ate so if you’re a purist you did, but in all actuality you maybe gave your body enough food for 1 minute of activity. People drink coffee and cream all the time, and that’s “worse” than a tiny piece of fruit.
