Answer

To me this is a non issue. Our diets need to be nearly all whole foods based. We shouldnt be eating many foods that are refined to the point where thetmy arent the original food anymore.

Remove potatoes, see if your child gets better. I think you should be willing to try things for your kids sake rather than defend the food industry.

An elimation diet in many cases can be your only true hope for isolating sensitivities. All you can do is experiment and see. Its easiest to start removing foods that aren’t whole and processed.

How did they come to the conclusion of the potato sensitivity?

That to me will determine the legitimacy. Process of elimination I respect the recomendation. Using blood tests science has shown to be completely ineffective at determining intolerances? Yeah that one I have less respect for.

Answer

My Natty path told me that my side effects from a herb was “just your bio pathways opening up and detoxing”.My allergist/immunologist told me to avoid those herbs as they are renowned for their cardiac issues.

Always, always ask as many questions as you can with natural medicine. As you should with medicine in general.

Can I ask why you went to a naturopath for ongoing tummy pains in your child?
I included a naturopath in my care team because I have an allergy/intolerance mast cell disorder and I wanted to find all possible options to deal with my idiopathic anaphalaxis. My naturopath had the right idea for a treatment plan, but the supps and herbs were reactive for me.
