So I'm doing IF to reduce insulin resistance. Right now I'm doing 3 days of 18 hour fasting, alternating days. I usually just drink water or coffee during my fast with no sweeteners or supplements. Wednesday last week I discover I had cinnamon sticks so I added one to my thermos and sipped from it throughout the day. It had a nice sweet, spicy, bitter taste. On Friday, my final IF day, i felt uncomfortable since I was worried it'd break my fast, so I actually didn't drink it until my fast broke. Even then drinking it between meals (avoiding snacking between 4 hours of regular meals) makes me cautious.
tl;dr I'm worried the sweet taste or cinnamon will wreck my goal of reducing insulin resistance during my fast.

Congrats to you! Worry not! You are doing a very healthy cool thing for your health! The cinnamon will be fine.Strict fasting (no calories) is the 100% best way to unlock all the benefits. But if you need a little support from the flavors you are drinking that’s totally ok. You will still get great health benefits from IF.
