Does IF actually help lose moobs or no

Because I wanna lose my moobs and love handles because it looks goofy and if so what fasting should I do ?

Answer

The unfortunate truth is that depending on the severity of the gyno and the cause then IF isn’t going to be sufficient to fully get rid of it. At that time you may require surgery. It’s effective for the love handles though.

Answer

Yes and no. No more or less than any other diet and exercise would at least. And as another comment mentioned sometimes there’s also other factors at play.

But it certainly helped me, just want to be clear on and frame expectations.

Answer

talk to your doctor about a condition called gyno, (s)he can confirm it’s just fat or gyno

Your “moobs” maybe be purely fat, or there could also be breast tissue. Not uncommon for this to develop during puberty for boys and stick around for life (or for steroid users)

If it purely fat, then yes losing weight will completely fix your moobs (save for any potential loose skin)

If it is gyno, you can either take medication or get surgery

Surgery can be a few thousand dollars but is instant and is a guaranteed fix

Medication (most doctors will prescribe ‘tamoxifen’ for gyno) is not a guarantee and is not immediate, but is much cheaper than surgery and less invasive obviously. It is not a guarantee but it is still quite effective if you give it time.

There was a research paper done on tamoxifen that showed for 81 men with the average age of ~36, after 10 years of taking tamoxifen that only 8 of them didn’t completely have their gyno resolved (so you could say tamoxifen is about 90% effective). And tamoxifen likely resolved some mens gyno in much much less than 10 years. There is another drug called raloxifene or something which also shows promise. I made a post about this research paper actually, I think it’s in my post history

Answer

Lose some weight and do some resistance training. A bigger back and shoulders will help stretch that skin back out again.

Edit: IF isn’t the determining factor. A caloric deficit is what you need to lose weight. IF is just a method of achieving that deficit that is manageable for some people. It may not be for you. You may have better adherence to another eating pattern. At the end of the day, eating less than what your maintenance calories are is what you need. If you’ve not done much resistance training before, you should be able to gain a bit of muscle while losing fat. If so, don’t focus on the scale so much, focus on how you look (take photos).
