To answer your TLDR - yes this is my experience. It took me nine dry fasts to work up to 5 days. It pretty much gets easier every time. A few times I did not prepare great so those were the exceptions. My longest time was 3.5 days and i held out as long as I could. This last fast I completed 5 days and could have gone longer but had to recoup and go back to work. I am convinced it’s mostly a matter of detoxing that caused me to quit early. I did drink very frequently over COVID and I’m sure that played a big role.
You flush toxins, electrolytes, vitamins, minerals with water. When dry fasting, you teach your body to dissolve toxins and bad/dead tissue and convert them into something useful. And kidneys can’t hurt by the way, it’s the muscle surrounding them

How much muscle mass do you have? I had similar issues, due to having the strength of a wet noodle, that were fixed after picking up weightlifting. Specifically, I trained for weight and ate like a lunatic.

>I’ve been away for a while, but an update. I’ve been keeping up with extended dry fasts of 3+ days and my inflammation is down about 80% of where it was last time I posted. Huge improvements in hard flaccid as well. I feel I’ve essentially proved all of my theories correct over the past few months. Dry fasting is basically just a sped up version of water fasting; it is much harder but provides much better results. I haven’t had any ill effects either, and I’ve retained all of my muscle. Any questions, feel free to ask. Glad to be back!
The 4 biggest things that helped me - assuming you are doing a soft dry fast - were:At least 2 cold showers a day - I always tape my mouth with micropore tape to be cautiousGetting as much cool air exposure as possibleUse a tongue scraper and dry brush every day! It gets that nasty taste out of your mouth which helped so much. I make sure to wash them and dry them right after using so I don’t risk putting anything wet in my mouth laterLite work on my trampoline every day. Any type of light exercise would work
I also tried not to let myself sleep too much during the day bc laying awake all night was the hardest part for me and also the time when my back would really start hurting. Seemed a lot easier to distract myself with movies or TV during the day then when I had weak moments.
I didn’t know if I’d ever get over 3 days after several attempts and then last time is was just so much easier. Felt like I was cheating. I use willpower when I feel too thirsty or weak just for a while to see if it passes. But if it feels unbearable for an extended time I always thought it was safer to stop there.
