Eating once every few days? (Context provided within/below)

So I have embarked on multiple fasts, the most being 10 days 3 times. Only one of these fasts (i’ve done about 10 that passed 72 hours) went along with me not feeling weak, “tired”, fatigued, and nauseous because on day 3 or 4 I took a scoop of powdered bone broth and that fast lasted around 10 days without issue just from consuming broth one time. I was about 90 hours into my first extended fast attempt in 2 years and once again felt the above symptoms. I just ordered and ate some cheap spicy ramen along with a salad my grandfather left over in my fridge. I would love to get that powdered bone broth again but I’ve since moved to the Philippines and they only have quasi-bone broth in liquid form. I really wish I knew what was about that bone broth that kicked those symptoms to the curb for that 10 day fast. So that leads me to the point of the post. Now that my glycogen “reserves” are depleted, would eating when i feel these symptoms every 36 hours or so be feasible? basically an OMEOD fast. I already feel better within a half hour of eating and taking a multi vitamin or two the past 3 days didn’t curb symptoms. In the past Himalayan salt + magnesium + potassium (all in liquid form) daily didn’t curb those aforementioned symptoms so I don’t know if buying those will even make a difference in how I feel. Does anyone have any way that I can best customize this fast or even completely curb having to eat to trigger and insulin response? I want the autophagy benefits but it seems my body refused. to cooperate when burning ketone bodies for energy. Any suggestions help. Thanks! EDIT: I just bought 30 750mg of Potassium Chloride (Kalium Durules). How much of this should I take daily while fasting? 2, 3, 4 pills?

Answer

Not medical advice but in the hospital the usual starting dose for someone who is low on potassium is 40 mEq which is equivalent to 4 of those 750s. I can’t say what maintenance dosing should be though. You also don’t want to have high potassium. Each comes with its own issues which can be severe.
