Eczema fix

Am considering an extended fast to heal a recent psoriasis flare up. I usually get a prescription of antibiotics and topical steroid creams, but I don’t enjoy those nor want to build a resistance to the medicine. Has anybody experienced fasting for psoriasis or eczema? I’ve read in journal articles that it’s potentially effective but would love some anecdotal info too :) Plan is to start tomorrow for 3-5 days, depending how it goes

Answer

Look up topical steroid withdrawal–its a thing. Eliminate all detergent in your life and use Bonners when you need soap, as limited as possible. I fasted 22 days and a lot of things improved but eczema didn’t go away until I lived soap/shampoo/makeup free for months.

Answer

No body soap, only water to wash for rest of your life.

3-5 days is a serious undertaking if you’ve never fasted before.

Go vegan if you can swing it. I believe that the drugs they shoot in to the animals ends up in us, but I cna’t prove it.

I have done a three day water fast to help alleviate my severe eczema on my palms and hands and parts of my face. It worked, as I am happily typing this with my eczema free hands. I suggest warming up with intermittent fasting before a big fast and def work your way up to an extended fast. Begin with one whole day and see how you feel and move forward. I also began to eat more Keto during that part to help me thru the extended fast period. I highly recommend not eating processed foods before a big fast. I notice a huuuuuuge difference in my second three day fast when I didn’t warm up and do keto.

Backstory on why I did it. I was at my wits end for treatment and relief. I did use a topical strong steroid two months before the fast and it did help the big patches call down a bit. However it flared up again and I didn’t want to continue that whole steroid journey. So I decided to try fasting as an option to control and to also try to figure out if any foods were my agitators.

Tl/dr: fasting def worked for controlling my eczema so much that I can use my hands; washing them with soap, washing small amounts of dishes, and they don’t flare up as frequently or severe as much. Good luck and I hope it works for you too!
