Effects of fructose on immune function?

I recently read that sugar has an impact on immune function. I assume this is primarily added sugars doing the damage, but curious if fruit sugar also has a negative effect on immune function? Clearly fruit themselves pack in plenty of nutrients and benefits that aid in a robust immune system, but for someone looking for optimal immune function to fight off a persistent virus, could one do more harm than good consuming fruit?

Answer

Is it possible to overdo it on fruit? Yes. If you make a smoothie full of bananas or a juice full of apples it would contain a lot of sugar. However, one piece of fruit or a bowl of lower glycemic fruit such as berries will do more good than harm.

Answer

Sugar is poison for many of us metabolically. More so fructose which destroyed my liver. BigFood is fine with sugar especially 24/7/365 fructose which is unnatural. Modern fruit & juice is hybrid modified poison. Anyone that wants it, go for it but not me, it’s not essential & dangerous. “Clearly” modern fruit & high fructose corn syrup is hyped & overblown for profit.

Answer

In general, the evidence against fructose is from HFCS.Fruits are among the most immune-boosting foods that exist. But sometimes you’re better off fasting to starve the virus while allowing your body to dedicate more of its resources to fighting the virus instead of the usual endless task of digestion.

Answer

Sugar boosts the immune function. That’s why it’s important for athletes to take in some sugar/carbs after a big endeavour. Because their sugar stores are used up and therefor their immune system is weakened. It runs on sugar. To avoid disease they eat or drink some sugar/carbs afterwards. Added or non added, it is the same molecule.

Unfortunately, there is a big smear campaign going on against sugar, making people believe that it’s some kind of poison… I’d say refined sugar is a cheap tasty complement to the ordinary caloric intake. It’s basically just fuel for the body.
