I'm so thankful I found this community of people and even though I haven't interacted much, everyone has been fair and supporting when I have posted. I just want to say, I've been building to a multi-day dry fast. Right now, the best I've done is right at 36 hours but I noticed something has happened.
Previously, I would eat and my weight would swell back up to 264 lbs (119.74 kg) and then over the course of the next 12 hours would slowly wither back down to 260 or so during a dry fast. It wouldn't be until the 24th hour that my weight would hit 257/258 lbs (116.57 - 117.02).
After this 36 hour dry fast, which ended Wednesday at 8 PM, I'm hitting 258 within 6 hours of starting a dry fast. This has happened consistently over the last few days as I've been dry fasting for 12 to 16 hours every day then breaking it with food.
Makes me realize how powerful this program really is and that it truly is more than just water weight that is being lost after a certain point in the fast.
**EDIT:**
It's amazing what simple exercise can do to speed up weight loss for those of us interested in that aspect of this. I went back to work on Tuesday and it was my first time in 16 months back in the office. I work at a university and it's a spread-out campus with quite a bit of distance between some buildings. I had to take my laptop up to comp support in a building that is 1.1 miles away from my office building, so I decided to enjoy the 109% humidity and 90-degree weather at 8 AM. The total round trip was 2.2 miles. Not only that but I walked around campus twice. Came home, broke my dry fast with quite a bit of rice. Now normally, I'd have shot back up to 262 - 264 lbs, but just a few hours after my last bite and drink, I'm sitting at 259. Absolutely astounding. What a fantastic protocol.

This is the only way I’ve been able to consistently reset my set point weight. It is slow but I only do 15 to 24 hrs at a time. And even when I go off diet I stay at the new lower set point weight. It’s the only thing I have found to actually reset my weight.
I may try 36 hours now and see what happens.

It’s not recognized here (I’m not pointing at somebody in particular) that loosing water, even if it comes back later, is part of the healing process.
Water loss/restriction is probably associated with increased immune system efficiency, metabolism, detoxification, and maybe reduced rate of aging (check my post history and the dry fasting research thread).
