Extra push for my daughter’s wedding

I’ve been doing 16/8 for a while now with some success at the start. Then I went to Venice for a week and south of France for six weeks. Came home to no kitchen as the schedule for my new kitchen had fallen way behind. Today I tried on my dress for my daughter’s wedding on 18th October. It barely fits and I look terrible in it. I’m so disappointed in myself and so disheartened. What can I do to lose about 14lbs between then and now? I’m desperate for advice and just sharing my dilemma. I’m vegan btw.

Answer

Maybe not what you want to hear, but would it be possible to buy a new dress?

14lbs in less than a month is probably not possible without serious self-torture, and will unfortunately probably result in weight gain after. I bet you had an amazing time on your vacation and you don’t deserve to be punished for that!

Your daughter’s wedding is such a big milestone for your family, and luckily you won’t be the center of attention! What if you bought an amazing, flattering new dress, got an amazing blowout (or whatever applies to your hair sitch), and focused on making the day perfect for your kid and her new partner?

I hope that doesn’t sound callous, I totally get wanting to look good on a big day that will probably have lots of pictures taken. I just hate to think of my own mom being too bummed about her weight to enjoy my special day!

And maybe you could set a more realistic goal in the meantime — like, workout 5x a week, skip alcohol until the big day, and go low carb/whatever is doable for you on a vegan diet without being able to cook? ♥️
