Long fasts should be done by people who are experienced with fasting, and with listening to their bodies.
If you have success with 2-3 day fasts, and understand your body’s need for electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals, then try a longer fast. Read about refeeding before you start. If anything feels wrong, don’t hesitate to eat, evaluate the situation, and try again.
The longest recorded fast was 382 days. With only water, coffee, tea, and a multivitamin being taken.
It’s important to note that if you are going to do an extended fast that is longer than 7 days, you should be under the supervision of your physician.
Yeah. If you fast more than 3 days your muscle will waste away. It’s crazy high, too, like 10-15 lbs of muscle per day. People who fast for 30 days just wind up becoming bags of bones surrounded by fat. I don’t even know how they type without any muscle, much less use a phone.

I’ve done it a couple times quite successfully (as in, didn’t feel any side effects), but honestly, didn’t really see that much sense for me in it. I felt great and all, but I’m also fine with 16:8 or OMAD, so eh. Maybe for autophagy every once in a while, I guess.
