You’ll still be cold obviously because your blood sugar has dropped, but electrolytes cure the problems you mention for me.
Please don’t ignore the symptoms. I’d suggest taking a thermometer to work with you and checking it when you get really cold. I have a similar issue when fasting (and I don’t work in a refrigerated area–you are much worse off). I started taking my temp and discovered I was just barely above 95 degrees. Below that is hypothermia, which sounds like what you are describing. No suggestions for how to cope at work, but for home I wrap up in heating blankets and I’ve spaced out my fasting considerably and never for longer than 2 days.
The very first thing I would try is electrolytes and thinner layers x multiple. Hot drink to sip on.
But maybe longer fasts are better for you in the summer time-like a pervious poster suggested.
Eta: perhaps 20-23 hours fasts would work for you better. Omad style. I don’t really get cold on that any more.
Yes, this happens to me. I’m not entirely sure whether it’s because I’m a little lower in weight than is ideal for my body in winter or I just shouldn’t fast for as long as I do now until summer. I get so cold sometimes I feel like I’ll never be warm again. I haven’t found a good solution yet but I did notice eating immediately makes me feel warm again.
It happens to me as well. I’ve been trying to do 4 day fasts each week but by days three and four, I’m so cold I can’t even sleep. All just to get on the scale and see the same number. It almost doesn’t seem worth it.
