Unrelated but I have found changing my pillowcase every other day, and flipping it so I only ever sleep on one side for one night, helped massively with acne when I was younger. I’m sure others will attest to longer fasts being helpful for acne.
Fasting & avoiding dairy & wheat helps me the most as does getting enough sleep & sweating a lot every day via strenuous exercise & immediately washing my face… another good recommendation from someone about changing ur pillowcase a ton! Do that! I also LOVE my Curology online prescription it combines acne & anti-aging ingredients into one product (not sure ur age if aging is a concern) … your chin acne likely is hormonal (I’m early 30s and all my friends & sisters are having babies right now & when they are pregnant get acne on their chins) … so doing anything to stabilize your hormones & inflammation should help (ie getting enough sleep to reduce cortisol, avoiding things like wheat that spike ur insulin, exercising to regulate everything, improve sleep quality & sweat out all the bad stuff, etc)
Fasting helps with hormonal issues so I don’t see why it wouldn’t help with acne.
I’ve had a bunch of weird skin stuff that has totally disappeared from fasting, like skin tags and cholesterol deposits but that’s a bit different from acne. Skin does feel smooth and awesome after a fast though.
I’ve actually seen some videos of people who went on extended fasts for acne issues and their acne pretty much disappeared by the end of the fast. All of the water intake and lack of oils and fats in the diet (just fats from the body) should dramatically reduce if not completely clear up your skin. Granted, this goes for fasts in excess of 3-5 days, which aren’t typically recommended for people still growing (under 20 I’d say), but if you are in your 20s, and have some fat to lose I highly recommend a long term fast 7+ days. I’m pretty confident you’ll see massive improvements in acne if not complete clearing up.
It really helped for me! My skin is way smoother and my blemishes have radically diminished (though some are left of course). I was really skeptical before but I def noticed a difference. Then again it might be different for everyone :)
I’ve done several extended fasts and I can always count on any pimples completely shrinking, drying up and disappearing. Everyone’s different I guess, but when you aren’t putting food in your body, there’s less toxins and junk trying to get out through your skin.
