Fasting and nerve damage or blood circulation

Over the past month, I've woken up 3 times to numbness in the back of my head. It quickly goes away as I sit up but it's scary. I don't want to stroke out. I can't visit a doctor until March and I won't go to the hospital because of Covid. I've done several fast in my life and I'm thinking of doing another. I can't figure out if it's a circulation issue or nerve damage issue. It's terrifying and has me awake at 2:30am typing this. With all that said my question is, can fasting improve circulation or heal nerve damage?

Answer

/u/DJ-Slickstop – let’s make something clear. Avoiding the hospital isn’t doing you any favors. The medical staff have been getting immunized for a while now. Mask-wearing is mandatory. They segregate any patients exhibiting COVID19 symptoms to protect the other patients. As soon as someone is admitted for COVID19, they’re moved to an area that’s off limits to the rest of the patients and all staff in those areas are required to wear personal protection equipment while with those patients. Everything is sterilized with considerable frequency.

Your anxiety is magnifying things out of proportion. Take this from someone who also lives with a permanent lifelong anxiety and panic disorder. All it does is magnify everything out of proportion, and we always have to be mindful of how it’s altering how we see things. Do I claim to have “the shit handled”? Hell, no. I deal with it on a daily basis, and even have lapses of judgement from time to time. I’m just saying to be mindful of it and understand how it’s literally preventing you from getting medical care.

Chances of you getting COVID19 is low. And if you do get it? Chances of dying from it is low.

On the other hand, if you have an impending stroke, or anything other serious and it’s going untreated? Chances of it screwing you over is pretty good.

I don’t know about you, but I’d get out of my head, and take my ass down to the hospital and confirm it’s nothing serious before even considering fasting.

Answer

If you’re sleeping on your back it likely due to your pillow reducing circulation.

I had this issue a few years ago when I would read in bed, went to the doc and he said it was due to the pillow and very common.

I had to go to the hospital recently and Covid added a bunch more anxiety to that, but honestly it was probably better and I definitely felt safe. Hardly had to wait at all also. Go get yourself checked!
