Fasting for ADHD healing

How crazy am I?

Answer

Ok I have tried this to a degree. I was actually fasting for other reasons, but was hoping to gain other benefits, like help with my ADHD symptoms and mild anxiety. I did many 7+ day fasts, including a 15 day water fast and multiple dry fasts. What I will say is that it did seem to help somewhat. HOWEVER, if you find yourself getting anxiety or an increase in any of your normal symptoms, try to push through and not complete the fast until the symptoms lesson during the fast. A few times, I stopped during the healing crisis of those issues, and it’s like I was stuck in that mode until my next fast. That was not fun! Of course, be safe and stop if you absolutely must. But be careful about stopping the fast when you are having an increase in symptoms.

Answer

Eating a high fat, nutrient dense carnivore diet helped my ADHD symptoms immensely. So much so that I came off of medication. I’m now able to fast much more easily, and the fasting definitely adds to my mental sharpness!

Answer

I think you are definitely on to something.

I definitely experience that. What I believe is that I am super sensitive to foods and when I have anything outside of a raw diet I it messes with my mind. It’s been happening since I was a little kid.

I got tested for allergies and they said nothing. But the way the food effects my mind says different.

When I’m fasting on fresh juice I feel like I’m very able to focus and see through the fog that usually is my life.

I’m amazed I do so well in life with the dramatic difference in how I feel when I’m on the normal person diet.
