My daughter and I went to Ireland when she had an exchange program. I asked for “ heavy cream “ at a coffee shop - which confused the heck out of them! I realized that they were correct - American “ heavy cream” is really just genuine “cream!” I felt silly when realized that….. 😂
I love this strategy. It sounds like something you can live with instead of making yourself miserable and starving. I’ve done plenty of dirty fasts and at the end of the day I don’t feel like my day was driven by my eating schedule as the fasts were never easy for me.
I think it is relevant that I’m from the UK and am I right for guessing that this “heavy cream” is a US thing? It sounds like it has a lot of non-cream things.
So I understand the black coffee issue. Over the years I’ve managed to go to no sugar and I can have it black if I have to but I don’t enjoy it too much, so when I was doing something similar to you I’d put a small amount of double cream in my coffee, just to get me through.
However, double cream is very very low in carbs, this one you can have 2 x tablespoons and it is only 0.5g of carbs: https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/262479533
Do you have this in the US? In the UK this is in every supermarket. Might be worth the swap for what you’re trying to do.
