Hey IF friends, I'm new here so I apologize in advance if this kind of questions were asked. I would like to ask about fasting - is it healthy to have fasting in your lifestyle? Like to do 8/16 every day for like a year, two and more? For example i am now doing 16 days of 4/20 fasting. Then the Ramadan starts and I will be doing sunrise to sunset fasting. After that i wanted to go 6/18 for like a month (till june) And then to continiue with my life doing 8/16 Would that be too much? Would that be healthy? My goal is to loose some weight till june but then start weights workout. \+ Can someone say how do you combine weights workout with fasting if i start now? For example I work from 7 - 15. So now I fast from 13 - 17 (1:00 - 5:00). Is it okay to drink protein shake right befor fasting starts and go working out arround 18(6:00) or 19(7:00) ? Thank you for your answers. If I learn something new I would be more than happy

You don’t need to do anything special. Just exercise whenever it suits you, and start following the IF eating system in a way that fits your schedule. (The suggestion that you need food around same time as exercise, is misinformed.)

I’m on my 3rd year of IF. Daily fasting around 16 to 22 hours depending on schedule. I get physical exams and lab work every year and no negative effects from IF compared to my medical results from ealier than 3 years. I do IF as it’s helped reduce GERD problems (I skip dinner).

I walk daily as exercise, cant speak about lifting. All in all, IF is a sustainable lifestyle for this point of my life.
