Hey guys, I want to start a fasting routine. Over the last 2 years I’ve gained some weight. Beginning of 2020 I was 210 and in good shape. I was at the gym 6 times a week. Now 2 years later I’m 260 at 6’1”. I’ve been trying to get into a workout routine recently but still have a hard time dropping weight. I’ve tried OMAD and even Keto, but my energy levels are low and I feel absolutely miserable. I realized that I’m weak in the gym and can’t have intensity to stay 45-60 min consistently.
I figured instead of hitting the gym hard and trying to build muscle, I’d rather work on shedding weight first. I’ve been following the snake juice forum and videos for years now but never really tried it 100%. Longest fast I did was 5 days and I lost over 10lbs. I want to do that again but with something more practical. My goal is to get down to 200 before I start lifting heavy again. I’m hoping with fasting, I can reach that by April being consistent.
Was wondering if anyone has had a similar goal and what was your routine?
Answer
No need to do long fast, 48h alternate day fasting works wonders, small keto refeeds and in between the saltwater, tea, coffee, even coffee with butter or coco oil, I am also trying these psyllium husk now, they are pretty much all fiber and help me sleeping very good on the fast.
Answer
It’s not truly Cole’s Snake diet if you aren’t lifting. Building muscle helps the process. Do what’s sustainable for you. Anything is better than nothing. But I highly recommend:
- at least rolling 48s
- compound lifts, 3 sets of 5 reps. Intensity is only as hard as you make it, so you shouldn’t have any excuses. “Starting Strength” is your best bet for learning.
