Favorite dirty electrolytes?

Hi all :) Long time lurker, recently joined Reddit and am enjoying participating more actively in the sub. In the past I have had issues consuming electrolytes dissolved in plain water. I have a few tricks that make it easier for me to tolerate electrolytes, and I’d love to hear about any hacks you may have up your sleeves. Magnesium as a pill or capsule is wonderful. I take it every night for all the many benefits, fasting or not. (Food grade Epsom salts cause me to lose the contents of my stomach.) A 5 calorie cube of chicken or beef bullion plus 1/4t of No Salt dissolved in 10 or 12 ounces of water. Salty and satisfying. Adding liquid electrolytes - I have Lyte Show - to a glass of cold water with a squeeze of lemon juice or a packet or two of dehydrated lemon juice. The same added to a can of lemon or lime Spindrift. I take my hat off to everyone who can rock clean fasts with unadulterated electrolytes. At the moment I’m willing to fast dirty while enjoying continued weight loss. I will return to clean fasting at some point in the future to optimize autophagy.

My hats off to clean fasters also, especially since 4 years later I still refuse to do it. I still drink energy drinks and still drink diet sodas daily. My cross to bear I guess, but I digress.

So yeah, more to the point, salts. I do turn to these during rare extended fasts, but only when my body makes it abundantly clear I am a quart low and require them.

Much like everything else within the health/weight loss subculture (if you wanna call it that) people tend to overdo it. They take way too much or take it way too frequently and then act surprised when they are shifting their pants in 80 PSI bursts.

My own method of ingestion is pretty boring but it gets the job done. I stir a measured scoop of it in a tumbler of water and drink it slowly over 30 min or so.

Snake juice is disgusting. Potassium (no salt) in water I can drink just fine. It’s a little weird but I just chase it so no big deal. Liquid magnesium (ionic) tastes disgusting but it’s pretty effective as long as I don’t take in too much at once. I switched to pills and take them multiple times a day. Salt water makes me so sick, I’m now just sucking on Himalayan rock salt. It doesn’t give me any digestive upset. This is the only way I can get sodium into my body as once I start with the digestive issues, I lose so much water and the fast goes downhill quickly.

Oh, a couple of other things I’ve tried:

Lyte Show + black coffee was grotty

Lytro Show + tea wasn’t horrible. Definitely less palatable than tea alone. I’ve tried it with peppermint and decaf black vanilla.
