My hats off to clean fasters also, especially since 4 years later I still refuse to do it. I still drink energy drinks and still drink diet sodas daily. My cross to bear I guess, but I digress.
So yeah, more to the point, salts. I do turn to these during rare extended fasts, but only when my body makes it abundantly clear I am a quart low and require them.
Much like everything else within the health/weight loss subculture (if you wanna call it that) people tend to overdo it. They take way too much or take it way too frequently and then act surprised when they are shifting their pants in 80 PSI bursts.
My own method of ingestion is pretty boring but it gets the job done. I stir a measured scoop of it in a tumbler of water and drink it slowly over 30 min or so.
Snake juice is disgusting. Potassium (no salt) in water I can drink just fine. It’s a little weird but I just chase it so no big deal. Liquid magnesium (ionic) tastes disgusting but it’s pretty effective as long as I don’t take in too much at once. I switched to pills and take them multiple times a day. Salt water makes me so sick, I’m now just sucking on Himalayan rock salt. It doesn’t give me any digestive upset. This is the only way I can get sodium into my body as once I start with the digestive issues, I lose so much water and the fast goes downhill quickly.
Oh, a couple of other things I’ve tried:
Lyte Show + black coffee was grotty
Lytro Show + tea wasn’t horrible. Definitely less palatable than tea alone. I’ve tried it with peppermint and decaf black vanilla.
