Finding the moderate road

Right now I’m doing 48’s with a paleo refeed in a six hour window. Very slow metabolism and 52 years old, but this is working. Because I am so active: walking and bouldering most days of the week, the 72’s got too intense…body pain, severe hunger and reactive eating. Yet, I still seem to need some fasting for weight loss so 48’s are my new jam, this seems to give me more of the regular nutrition I require without a stall in weight loss. I’ve lost 14 and I’ve got 40 ish to go to be at a bmi of 23.

48 with a six hour window as in shifting your window by six hours every time? Sounds more like 42/6. Which don’t get me wrong, it is great. Not knit picking just getting a clear view.

If you are starting to fast it is ok to slow down your roll, let your body (heck, your mind) get used to the flow of fasting. It doesn’t need to be a struggle; I was a chronic snacker and now I’m on hour 88 of my current 96 hour fast and I’m not hungry. They get easier, so don’t force them. Else instead of them getting easier, you get used of them being hard.

Consider alternate day fasting. Once you start doing those like a boss it should blunt your morning appetite so 42/6 should be trivial. Eventually you want to do a 96hr fast. Even if that one sucks a bit more it will put anything shorter than that into perspective and make them a lot easier.
