Finished 11 Day Fast - Question on Breaking It

Just finished an 11 day, farthest I’ve gone. Did it to improve a skin condition and it is not resolved but better than ever. It was a breeze after day 4. I took a multi vitamin and zero calorie electrolyte drinks too. Question, how many calories should I have right out of the fast? I had 3 cups of bone broth for a total of of 240 calories today. I am switching to an all meat diet after this to try to finish solving the skin issue. Think I’m good for some ground beef tomorrow? Thanks

Answer

I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice, but how I personally successfully broke a 10 day fast:

You need to build back your intestinal flora properly. For the first few days, yogurt is good, sauerkraut is good, other probiotic or fermented foods. Might also consider a probiotic supplement if you want.A cup of yogurt in the morning and a bowl of sauerkraut at night should be sufficient though for jumpstarting internal flora properly. Three days of this or so.First day should be clean eating and water, no French fries or crap.No meat until second day, start with a little chicken. Third or fourth day, red meat. After that, whatever! Go as slow with this transition as your body needs you to.If you are fasting for less than 5 days, the above is not likely something you have to worry about.
