First Step!!

Today I’m starting my IF process (SW 170; GW 130), I’m starting a 16-8 plan. I meal planned for the week and have prepped my lunches. My step-mom and I are in this together, it’s nice having someone as my accountability buddy. Please give me any tips to help us get started!!

Start and end your window with lean proteins, shy away from sugar and processed carbs in the middle, and load up on vegetable fiber in the middle. Don’t go 100% away from carbs, it affects your mental function, but choose wisely like a turkey sandwich with whole grain bread. Total abstinence from anything will eventually creep up as a problem, so learn moderation and use the hard work you’re putting in as justification to make good decisions. I don’t know your age, but daily drinking will kill anything you’re doing, so keep it to occasional, like 2 a week, if that. Sleep is also key, don’t eat a couple hours before bed, and get 8 hours.

hello! we have pretty similar stats! i started at 170 in august and i’m currently at 150! it’s been pretty slow but consistency realllllyyyy pays off. if you fall off the horse, get back on it. i don’t count calories, but portion control has made such a big difference. you got this.

You can definitely go zero carb (or even keto) and thrive and kick absolute ass, if you want to. If you want maximum results then you should consider looking into that lifestyle — it’s amazing. Good advice is to work your way toward it methodically instead of just going cold turkey into it. But if you are a determined-type individual then you absolutely can do it — source: myself, who did it this past July, and have actually amazed myself with how great I feel day in and day out.
