I’ve been trying to get my body off anything that alters my mind significantly, such as alcohol, tobacco, contraception, and now I’m off it all I see how sensitive I am to food, I see myself eating lots almost as a ‘depressive’ to slum me out, make me tired and sort of numb? I don’t like it, I don’t want to use food this way I don’t think it’s healthy. How do you think I should go about this? I’m vegan and I try to stop eating at 6-7pm so am already doing some intermittent fasting. I would like to try some more fasting to improve self control and not be reliant on food to fix my mood.
Any suggestions would be great, thank you
Answer
Vegetarian here. I controlled mine with two things.

Keep pushing the IF until you’re at least 16/8, if not 18/6. You may already be there, I’m not sure.

You might be missing something in your diet which is causing you to react to food that way. B supplements helped me. I was already on D and a multi-vitamin due to blood work I had gotten. As a vegan, if you’re not particularly careful you’re going to be missing something. You could get a micronutrient panel, or you could grab that nutritional yeast and see if it helps.
