That’s an interesting thought! I certainly have had trouble fasting with food in the fridge. Now that I work from home, IF has been a challenge. I’m currently on day 5 of a 7 day fast and before I started, I made sure to either throw away, give away, or eat all the easy-access food in my house. There is still food in the freezer and canned food in the pantry, but nothing that wouldn’t require an hour’s prep and cooking. This has helped me stay on my fast! I don’t know what comfort I’d take from someone eating for me, but it was nice to give my keto snacks away to a friend who I knew would eat them.
I think I want this for my chronic problems so bad that not even the fragrance of watching family eat freshly cooked lamb can shift me off this fast, I don’t have any consideration at all, not 1% of me so I can joke about it. I think if I were doing this just to be healthier idk if i could, but I believe this could actually change my life.
I usually have a few perishables and no matter how hard I’ve tried, I can’t overcome the urge to finish them first. Once I even started a fast, then 3 days later, I broke it and cooked a massive meal just to finish it. 10 egg scramble! I first try to freeze anything I can, then give the rest away to neighbors, but they don’t always want it and it feels weird to keep asking more and more of them until someone does.
it’s easy when you live on your own… harder, I am sure, if you have kids or are the person responsible for cooking for the family or household. I did donate and toss everything except spices from my cupboards and fridge when I started Carnivore with OMAD fasting and it helped very much to not have the temptations. Good luck.
