Grateful for this sub

Loving the encouragement and sisterly support! I'm also a part of r/xxketo and that place has such a positive feel to it. I think this place has this as well! Thanks everyone and grateful and excited for the accountability, support, encouragement to come! 15 hours into a water fast with salts and occasional coffee. Extended fasting has helped cure my pollen allergy which needed prescription medication (which didn't help much). So happy to not have a swollen face and throat and itchy eyes! Last night hubby was out so I broke down and had dinner with the kids. A healthy cabbage roll soup but still. :( So it turned into an OMAD day. Getting back on the fasting train. Happy hubby is back because dinners can be tough for me. :)

Answer

Agreed! I was never really comfortable in the fasting sub. Seems like all questions are answer with a tinge of “why don’t you already know this?” and “all bodies are the same, if yours is reacting differently, you’re doing it WRONG”.

I’m very grateful to have this supportive community!

Answer

Me too. Its taken me a while to build up to an extended fast - today is day one, and my period is due tomorrow or the day after, so regardless of the person who thinks xxfasting is just a fat girl pity party, it’s helpful for me to be able to connect with people who are open to discussing the highs and lows of that particular added challenge.

Answer

I had no idea extended fasting could help with allergies!

I’m allergic to pretty much everything in the air. Had countless doctors and scans and medications that do nothing for me, I also live with very frequent migraines.

Another box ticked for extended fasting! Now I just need to beat 43 hours :)

Answer

I think the hardest part of fasting was not eating dinner with the family. My son is old enough that he notices when I sit there drinking hot tea or broth while everyone else is eating dinner. This would be so much easier if I were single and didn’t have to cook dinner every night for the family.
