Hey everyone, I've been doing the snake diet dam near religiously for the past 3 weeks and I'm loving it.
I recently hit what I can't really describe as anything other then a plateau. Last week I was basically stable compared to previous weeks.
Lost 5lbs, but based on my activity I attribute that to pure water weight.
It was weird because suddenly about 58 hours into my last 72 hour fast I started getting crazy hunger cravings. I FOUGHT IT off until the 72 hours was up and tripled my salts but the cravings didn't go away. I slept terribly that night waking up at like 1 am and falling asleep again by 3 am. Eventually I woke up and just couldn't take it anymore, I ended up refeeding right in the morning around 9am on the 72nd hour. I had a big meal, it was the largest I ever had. Mostly veggies which I'm happy I had that control. But there was a whole burger I also ate with it which the bun was the first time I had carbs since fasting. I remember sitting there thinking how much I failed and would be set back because of it.
But after 2 days I'm actually down that weight from the refeed and more. It seems like I'm also past that plateau I was experiencing last week and I think the refeed somehow pushed me past it.
Can anyone explain why this happened? I thought for sure I was going to gain like 10lbs in one sitting and take a week to work it back off. Yet instead it seems to have only pushed me forward more in my weight loss journey.
Love this community and can't wait to keep going.

Personally, Id say just be happy that you didnt eat until the 72nd hour and your meal was mostly veggies. You got this! Just keep going at it and don’t beat yourself up over the burger buns. At the same time dont feel to happy over it because you will become complacent like I have for the last 3 weeks.

I have succesfully implemented ‘diet breaks’. I have been doing one 72, one meal refeed, another 72 and 24 hours eating window (fits with a week) - repeat. But as I’m approaching goal weight, it has become pretty hard to keep that cycle going. So lately I have cut it down to one 72 per week. And my weightloss have not decreased a single bit, but energy has returned. It’s probably a sign of decreased metabolism as I have experienced the same symptoms as you.
Diet style when eating: paleo-ish, normal sized portions. 1-3 meals a day and 1 day of anything goes. My version of anything goes is quite modest, though. Mostly a high quality piece of goodie. Fot instance a slice of really good cake or a bowl of dates or a scoop of icecream. Nothing overly excessive.
