Have you ever fasted and why?

Answer

I did intermittent fasting for a year, started with an 8 hour eating window and narrowed it down to 4 hours over time. I have also done 36-48 hour water fasts a few times but most of them I allowed myself black coffee too. I achieved my desired weight loss and I don’t do IF anymore, now I just follow a very strict policy of eating when I’m hungry and not eating when I’m not.

Answer

Not fast but we barely eat two meals a day due to the pandemic. I got hired but it doesnt pay me until end of January unfortunately. It is really hard and heartbreaking to see my mom and little sister suffer from my failures. I wish us the best for 2021.

The longest I ever went without eating at all was about a week. I was going through some tough times, and I had no appetite at all. As things were getting better, I tried to find some motivation in that. I was like, damn, if I can unintentionally go a week without eating, I could definitely do something like intermittent fasting if I put my mind to it. I did IF with a 4-hour eating window, along with keto and exercise, and lost like 50lbs over a summer.

Hi have done multiple fasts when I found out about them in more detail back in 2019.I tested the waters doing carnivore first for 6 months then just stopped being hungry so went 3 days with no hunger.I stopped ate for 4days tried again the next week.

3 days then stopped then 10 days the following week. Started in may- June stopped fasting. Life got busy with a new baby then started again in jan of 2020 for 52 day fast. I felt great the whole time except for the calf cramping at night.

I stop cause people got in my ear. Now I’m back again currently in day 5 of another long fast. Good luck on your journey. 👍

I completed a 43 day juice fast for medical reasons in 2012. I had an arthritic ankle stemming from an old injury and was in constant pain. Doctors said I needed an ankle replacement. My mother (a nurse) said it wouldn’t hurt to look into homeopathic methods. I stumbled onto a book about using fasting to cure arthritis. I did a 43 day juice fast and never felt better. At the end of it I felt euphoric. I wanted to go longer but had a vacation planned so I ended it early.

A year ago I moved my family cross county for work and let myself go. I put on 70lbs between the stress of the move and having no healthy routine in place. Recently my ankle arthritis flared up so I decided to use a fast to lose weight and to kick start a new healthy lifestyle.

I planned on doing a 50 day juice fast that would coincide with Lent. I’m on day 18 right now. I didn’t see the healing results in my arthritic ankle fast enough so I turned the juice fast into a water fast. I’m on day 6 of the water fast. After switching to a water fast, I experienced a healing crisis in my ankle almost immediately and couldn’t walk for a day and a half. Feeling better now. So far I lost 30 pounds.

I noticed a big difference between the juice fast and the water fast. The healing is much more intense during the water fast. I felt good and energetic during the juice fast but didn’t have a crisis. On the 6 days since switching to a water fast, I feel like my whole body is healing. I don’t have the euphoric feeling yet but I think I’m close to it.

Answer

I’ve done three 4-5 day fasts on water, electrolytes and tea. My primary reason was for weight loss, but I will continue to do them as they are a very rewarding exercise in discipline and also a great opportunity to reflect on things like self-control, how I relate to hunger, and finding the differences between emotional hunger (stress eating) and physiological hunger.
