Yes a ton. It contains phenolic and flavonoid compounds, that exert antioxidant properties. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Consider that honey doesn’t really spoil. As honey is obviously affected by the flowers from which they are sourced, we probably don’t fully understand if there are different categories of it.
I personally use honey from farmers markets, and best to get a raw comb if possible.
I love honey!! If you’re ever having a sweet tooth, then I recommend buying the honey that comes in a square container with the actual honey comb in it as well. Then just take a giant spoonful of that, plus chew on the wax like a piece of gum and spit it out after! By far the healthiest cheat snack to have around. And honey is by far the best option, in my opinion if you want to replace actual sugar, I would recommend staying far away from any artificial sweeteners. Although I’m sure I’ll get tons of slack from people saying that’s way to much sugar or whatever, and they’ll cite accredited sources that recommend dietary and nutritional guidelines, while failing to realize these same sources also say use canola oil instead of real butter.
