Help!

Hey, I’m new to the whole fasting thing and I’m starting out with intermittent fasting. Am I still burning fat while fasting for the 16 hours or do I need to fast longer to burn fat?

Hi There! I’m new to fasting as well. I have learned quite a bit from one of the fasting apps that includes videos/articles that help explain the fasting benefits and strategies. I just listened to a video that discusses 3 components to weight loss, no matter your choice in a fast:

  1. Time restriction: When you eat/do not eat.
  2. Caloric restriction: How much you eat.
  3. Dietary restriction: What you do/do not eat.

Making sure you have a strategy in place for even one of these components means you are on the path to meeting your goal(s) and when ready, being able to focus on all three is ideal. I’m working more on how I feel with the fast period now and starting to add calorie counting to see if that can boost a change myself. May be good to consider these factors as you start your journey, as well.
