I personally feel better during a dry fast although the longest I’ve done is only 72 hours. I’m never thirsty nor hungry and generally feel better. Also I’ve read that 1 day of dry fast equals 3 days of water fast. The Phoenix Protocol is quite a good book about this.
It’s the feeling that comes with it. When you don’t drink or eat, your body doesn’t have anything that it needs to digest and so hunger completely disappears. Even drinking water stirs the appetite, so dry fasting eliminates this. From what I’ve experienced, headaches are experienced only if you did not clean out the body well before the fast or you ate like crap. Caffeine, sugar, and salt can also cause major headaches if you don’t properly hydrate.
Electrolytes are not needed on a dry fast.
Think of it like opening a gate. When you drink water you open the gates of your cell that start modulating appetite. If you keep the gates close there is less activity within those cells hence less demand on your intake
You don’t need electrolytes because you aren’t diluting your blood with water. The only reason you “need” (put in quotations because there’s debate) electrolytes while water fasting is because you are drinking lots of water throwing off your electrolyte balance.
Yeah I’m going to go against the others and say I feel a lot worse dry fasting vs water fasting but i also feel bad on any longer than 1 meal a day kind fast so maybe I’m just a weakling ( max DF is around 2 days and WF 6, nothing impress).
