How not to die -other reccomendations

Hi guys, I have started listening to the how not to die audio book and love it, am really interested in the link between nutrition and diseases etc So I'm starting by introducing plant based lunches to see how I get on. My question is, can anyone reccomend any other books like this, but which focus on whole foods minus it being just plant based? I'm interested in properties of fish and other food groups that can be linked to health benefits. Purely just interested, any book reccoemnedations welcome 🙏 Laura

Answer

The food medic is a pretty good resource, she’s plant based but not vegan. So most things she makes are mostly plants but sometimes with a bit of dairy or meat too. She has a good podcast and blog.

Also try looking at the blue zones and medeterainean, will probably take you down some of the routes you are looking for.

I know some good nutrition books but not specifically how nutrition and disease link so she’s the best resource I know for this!

I am currently completing a health coach certificate and I can recommend the following reads:

- The Omega-3 effect by William Sears MD

- GI & GL Counter by Dr Winnie Chan

- Pubmed for the latest scientific updates and discussion.

Happy to provide more information if you are interested.

Plant Chompers has a lot of great videos that are easy to listen to on youtube. He always has a lot of good book recommendations as well.

Nutrition made simple is also a great source and good for listening only!
