Honestly you are trying to cross the bridge before you get to the river.
Every body is different. My niece, which I mention a lot for this topic, would puke if she eats one of her regular meals too fast. I’m blessed with a hardy stomach where I could break a 4 day fast with ribs and onion rings without getting as much as a burp.
Anything you do for the first time just go easy. The day the fast is ending make sure you consume extra water and proper electrolytes. To break the fast have a cup of broth. If nothing have some saltine crackers. If nothing just keep bumping it until you find the deep end of your particular pool. Some people get diarrhea (the lucky bastards as I suffer from constipation) so watch out for that.
After a few times you’ll know what your particular digestive system can take and how it reacts.
I just broke a 4 day fast yesterday at first just watermelon and some eggs with toast but later I had a chick fila meal and my stomach was torn to shreds felt nauseated for hours ended up having brothy noodles for dinner to calm my stomach down. But I think it depends on the person some people can do it others just won’t have the stomach for it.
Your body is in complete fat burning mode, consuming it’s own fat stores for energy. The easiest food to introduce is high fat foods, as that’s what your body is used to. Id go with some macadamia nuts, some slices of cheese, and some low calorie “filler” like a big dill pickle, some cucumbers, etc. Ease your way in. Maybe a cup of bullion /broth a few hours later. Part of this is just getting your stomach used to the volume and getting your gut moving. Over 24-48 hours wean yourself into a more regular diet with more protein and fat and fiber being most careful about simple carbs and sugary foods.
This may be overkill but is likely the best approach to make things smooth as possible.
I posted this on another thread the other day
I just did a 14 day fast. Longest I have done before was 3 days.
I was concerned about breaking the fast. I did it simply by bone broth with spinach. A hour later I had some yogurt. A couple hours later had some sauerkraut and some pickles. Later on I made a light soup out of broth, spinach, mushrooms and chicken. More yogurt and kraut later on to keep the probiotics flowing into me.
I did the same the next day and then made pizza on low carb tortillas for dinner. Went much smoother than I anticipated.
