How to successfully do 16/8 fasting.

Hi. I recently decided to start eating and living healthier. So I want to start intermittent fasting as well, but I'm not 100% sure about a few things. Can I make my main meal my breakfast, basically eating what I would have had for dinner in the morning and then eating lunch at 13h00 and fasting until just after 6 the next morning? I also want to get back into the gym in the next month or so and was wondering how this would affect me if I went to the gym in the evenings at about 7. Will I be able to make it or will I be to exhausted and hungry? Main goal is just to get healthy and weight loss. Thank you.

Answer

You can make your eating windows whatever works best for you and your schedule. There’s no schedule that works better than another. The nice thing about IF is it’s flexible - do what fits you and your lifestyle.

As far as working out, I think you’ll be perfectly fine. I personally work out while fasting and have no side negative energy effects, as do plenty of people. The important thing is to listen to your body. It’ll take a few weeks to adjust to the fast because you’re stress your body out. But after that adjustment period, if you find you’re just absolutely exhausted during a workout and can’t keep up, try changing up your eating window or when you exercise. Do what makes you feel the best.
