Try time restricted eating, it’s a beginner’s pathway into it. Let’s say at the start you’re eating through the day then snacking at night until you go to bed. Start with no eating after 10pm. Then move it to no eating after 9pm. And you keep moving out back by an hour each week, or two hours if you feel comfortable to do so, until you’ve got to a pattern where you’re losing weight.
The mistake I did when starting out was..I felt afraid of the fasting window and the thought of not being able to eat anything for 16 hours and this fear made me stuff myself constantly during the 8 hour eating window..I ended up gaining weight.
As an advice, I’d say definitely incorporate portion control in your meals..nothing too crazy but something that feels realistic to you and is slightly less than what you normally consume.
Secondly, pair IF with the most basic least effort activity like walking for 30 minutes.. you don’t even need to brisk walk..just walk.
Thirdly, you will feel VERY hungry in the beginning phase..like unbearable hunger even. Just drink water, distract yourself and power through. The hunger always goes away after 30 minutes and that was such a new realisation for me because I thought once you get hungry you stay hungry till you eat but it’s just a temporary pain.
I’ve been doing IF for 4 months now and I feel such a huge difference. My body craves more movement and less quantity but nutrition heavy food now and I’ve never felt better :D
Do it. It is not hard at all. Usually. Lol.
