I am really upset at myself.

Hi everyone, I am writing to inform all of u that I broke my fast shortly after the 6 day mark late this evening. I was feeling very fatigued and tired, and I felt as if I had to eat something. I had some fast food, I hate to admit it. I really want to start again soon, I don’t know why this go around was more difficult than the prior fasts. But I need to(and will) conquer my eating problems. I am sorry to have let you all down. I hope to come back soon with a new game plan. Maybe 5:2 fasting? (Only eat sat-sun one meal) Best, Matt

Answer

You’re being ridiculous. The overwhelming majority of people will never fast at all, won’t even listen to why to fast.

Oh noes, you listened to your body. You didn’t pass out or do something stupid that would get fasting demonized even further. How awful. How irresponsible. How thoughtless.

Listening to your body is not failure. It’s triumph. Your body is not your enemy, and keeping it alive is, well, the most important thing of all. No body, no you, and you matter.

Think back through and see if you were a little less on point with electrolytes?

What are you fasting for? Weight? Autophagy?

What is your weight? What’s your goal?

You’re kind of sounding disordered at the moment because we only have your “oh noes, I stopped my <unknown number of days, unknown reason fast> early!” statement without any context at all.

You fasted: win

You listened to your body: win

It’s not a competition and it’s not healthy for other people for you to treat it like one in this space. Refusing to heed the body’s warnings is a “you lose”. THAT is the ONLY “you lose“ in fasting.
