I have been doing intermittent fasting 16:8 and lost like 12 Kgs in the past very quickly(3 months with running everyday).I was at my best weight and then I started drinking a lot and smoke up sessions followed with lot of late night munchies and snacking with my pals. I gained weight and now I am again back on track with intermittent fasting. But I would not lose this weight fast like before. I took a step further and doing 18:6 and OMAD occasionally. I have lost weight again but I just don't want to keep doing these my whole life. I love food and different cuisines. I am a big time foodie and hog in every meal. Intermittent fasting worked for me as I don't have to worry much about food or portion I am eating.i fast everyday and eat in eating window but it's just I am tired. I don't want to keep doing this even after i achieve my goal weight to maintain it. Anybody feels the same. I feel like I am losing so much by not eating all the different cuisines that I can eat in the world. I really wanna eat all the time and enjoy it. I am tired. Please help. I can stop drinking and smoke up muchies for a while(like a year) but I don't want to quit them forever.
Answer
Honestly, if all you want in life is food, just accept being fat and move on. Life is a balance of priorities. I too love food, but for me, my best self eats in moderation and sees food as a pleasure not my life. Your best self does not have to be that way. Live your life how you like. I will say though, if you arent living a life you want there really is no point in using fasting. It probably just isnt for you

I’d go back to 16:8, enjoy my life, and stay off the scale for a while. It will work eventually most likely. You sound like you are drawn to extremes. Maybe you can use IF as a tool for moderation?
Food is great, but it shouldn’t control you. Neither should drinking or smoking. If you find you can’t enjoy these things and then know when to stop there may be an emotional piece there you need to look at.
Answer
It seems IF is not for you. Maybe try HIIT or CrossFit? That way you can still eat anything at any time and not worry about your health. I don’t think it’s healthy to be fasting on days you feel the need to lose weight and then binging right back when you’ve succeeded.
