I'm considering embarking on a dry fast. Have I gotten it right?

To keep this short, I'm thinking of dry fasting as long as I'm comfortable with (ideally 9-11 days) and transitioning into an electrolyte water fast and would love for some experienced dry fasters to just correct me, add or take. Preparation: Fasting experience (30 day electrolyte water fast completed, in fact quite recently.) Raw vegan diet 1-2 weeks prior to the fast itself. Deplete glucose stores days prior to the fast. Bowel cleanser, enema. Thoroughly clean my environment, although I doubt I'll be able to do this outside of an urban environment. 1tsp of baking soda in a glass of water day before starting. During the fast: Resting is essential (Is the brain activity during competitive video games considered too much?) Nose breathing Keynotes to when I have to break my fast: 120BPM accompanied by feeling ill, weak or pain (dr sergei) . Heartrate staying above 110 for more than 15minutes, it's time to break. Also, intense kidney pain or stiffness (trevor the 20 day dry faster). Elevated heartrate seems to echo among experienced dry fasters and licensed professionals fasting doctors to end the fast. Keynotes to how I plan break my fast: Snake juice recipe I suppose with the baking soda then slowly introduce low starch foods. Recipe: 1tsp baking soda, 1tsp potassium chloride, 1/4 iodized table salt with 1.5Liters of water. Edit: Editing thread as I go, learning more.

I’ll be honest, you probably will not be be comfortable dry fasting for 9 days. Unless you plan on doing literally nothing but sitting on your couch for the full ~240 hours, it’s unrealistic.

Dry fasting for 5 days is beyond great and when you start your dry fast, do not be ashamed to end it early if you feel too weak.

seems you did your research and reading from different sources. you have a solid plan. you have experience. and you know the signs when to quit. I would say you are properly prepared for your n+1 experiment. no one knows you better than you what is going to be best for you.

I have done many long 4w water and the first dry was 9 days. was aiming for 11 days but at 9.5 it got enough uncomfortable that I decide to quit.

as do sergei says 70% healing happens during refeed period then have a solid plan for that too. I even had little boxes of foods and drinks prepared for first 5 days after to stay on track and go into “i am gonna taste that little bit” mode with the dangers of overeating. some others say that your fast should be 1:1:1 meaning equal time for prep-fast-refeed. ideally. for 9-11 days dry I myself would eat lightly for a week and do cleansing teas, senna), laxatives if needed for 3-4 days before, and enemas maybe 2 days before.then fast. then if you want 2-3 days just water and salts, then from day 2-3 probiotic drinks and broth, day 3-4 raw eggs, butter, yogurt.I am mostly carnivore so after that sardines, böf tartar and other raw meat/fish dishes. and then 3 weeks ultra clean and healthy diet.

Why are you planning such a long dry fast?

Dr Filonov doesn’t recommend more than 3 days dry fasting if you are doing it at home unsupervised.

Although also, I’m reading Filonov’s book right now.

Sadly it’s quite clear to me that the guy is not exactly a rigorous scientific mind.

He may have successfully treated many patients with dry fasting but frankly he’s away with the fairies.

For example, this is from the page I happen to be on right now…

“negative energy essences, sensing their death in the absence of food, start to come out of you, since they can’t stand dry fasting and positive vibrations radiating from you”

He also talks about breatharians, structural water, and many many dubious/discredited concepts.

I’m doing alternate day 36 hour dry fasts and have been for the last 3 weeks. So I’m not trying to discredit dry fasting but I don’t think there is any right way to do it since the most widely quoted authority on dry fasting isn’t IMO a trustworthy source.

My advice would be to try 36 hours first before you embark on an extended fast. Proceed with caution.
