I felt inspired by the segment I saw on CBS Sunday Morning.
I’ve fasted before. I seem to be a yo-yo dieter. When the results get good enough I started slacking and getting away with it… until I don’t get away with it.
I make an espresso and add creamer to it when I wake up. Just curious if anyone else does that. Anyway, it’s not a lot. It’s one or two small gulps. The caffeine seems to help with not getting hungry but even when I don’t fast I’m not hungry for the first 3 or 4 hours anyway.
I’m having about 1 1/2 to 2 small meals a day, plus some strength training 5 days. Adding protein powder to things.
I used to use MyFitnessPal years ago and it worked (wasn’t a fasting routine, just watching the portions) but I refuse to go back to that. Too tedious.
Fasting is weird. It’s weird how easy it can be or how hard it can be. Hunger seems to be tied to expectation. It’s a mental thing with me. I set my expectations about eating the night before or maybe morning of and it seems to work. If I’m not planning or expecting fasting, and thinking about food and being loose about eating then I get hungrier.
I need to yo-yo back down from that time we were locked out of gyms. Haven’t recovered yet. I gained the covid “19”. As in 19 lbs.
Answer
I started fasting 3weeks ago. I was 119lbs down to 112lbs. I only drink warm water when i wake up. I used to drink coffee with cream and sugar. I tried drinking black coffee but I cant take it. And I’m eating healthier and less now compared before. It was hard for the first 3days. I do some exercise almost everyday, some cardio and weigh lifting. I dont know if im doing right. I only lost 7lbs.
