| | Water Fasting

i wish it wasn't a thing, but i have to overcome it.

food adiction. And i'm a strong willed person, getting far on my wishes. But for some reason i've been trying for years to overcome food being so so so important for me, i do waterfasts for years and started dryfasting a month ago, but when i return to eating my habits are overeating and added sugar, i also been doing one meal a day but i think i still eat a lot because my body has a lot of storaged fat. This stops me from enjoying other stuff because food is an easy relief or enjoyment. I write this in hopes to know what other people think about this, if someone is practicing abstense of food and water to overcome the addiction or relying of food. I'm on my first day dryfating today, i want to extend this to the 1rst of november (7 days) and today existing feels awful. I want to stray strong and not succumbe tho. But man. It's like i try so hard to be free, and i also try to no put resistance and just let myself be because i don't know if i got worse or is all in my head and i just wanna be healthy with no interest in food as a uplifter, just as food for fuel. Thank you for reading i'm looking forward to know to talk about this on the comments

I believe I’ve seen testimonies of people making me think that they had reset their oxytocin levels (level are depressed in hibernating animals, which is a state that can be compared with obesity somehow) with help of dry fasting. I’ve also read people saying that (intermittent maybe) dry fasting had help their eating disorders/appetite.

Oxytocin is also linked to food intake and drug abuse (or at least it could help stopping drugs) so it’s probably linked with eating disorders.

That being said, not everybody obtain these results with dry fasting.

For me, personally, it was the combination of keto/carnivore and water fasting that changed how I perceived food. Carnivore without dairy especially helped me get over a lot of cravings.

The thing about sugar is it’s addictive. As much as several street drugs according to studies. For those with addictive personalities, this can be especially troublesome. The nice thing about carnivore is you still get to have fulfilling meals while, also, eliminating sugar cravings over time.

Answer

Since I start fast/dryfasting, some food taste a little different, especially the one with a lot of sugar inside. Now, I’am close to be disgust with processed food with too much sugar inside. While before that’s what I used to love.

Maybe you should try to improve your diet outside of the fast.

But also as another one said, you shoud talk to someone to understad why this need came from.

Answer

From my experience. I had trouble overeating after pushing my fasts to long. I built more discipline with food by doing shorter(2-4 day fasts) then refeeding on Omad or even 2 meals a day. The longer fasts are good when needed but I found the further I pushed the fast it had a rebound effect.

Answer

you describe what sounds like historic trauma where eating helps you to be yourself, the habit of eating releases neurotransmitters, types of happy brain chemicals like serotonin or dopamine etc

mental health is a puzzle and it wasn’t until i started having st. john’s wort and kanna and real saffron threads , all these helped to me better understand how food was my coping mechanism

please try these substances, all can be found on amazon. df helped me to have more self discipline against eating however it was not until i had these medicines i could easily have resistance against over eating
