I’ve been doing 16:8 for about a month and it’s going very well. I’m also eating low carb and have been doing low carb for about a year. I’m in my routine and I’ve been sticking to it. But I’m about to head to Italy with my kids for work and holiday; a land full of delicious food and wine. My biggest concern is that breakfast is included in my hotel stay and I’ll also need to go out to dinner occasionally for work. How would work in either IF or some calorie restriction? Would you 1. pocket an apple from the breakfast bar to have after your fast during the day 2. would you take advantage of the breakfast and skip lunch and head straight into dinner (tmad if you like) 3. would you just try to stick to three small meals 4. would you skip breakfast if you had dinner the night before and try to skip dinner or lunch if you have breakfast? What would you do?!
Answer
I would aim for 14:10 or even just 12:12. This sounds like it might be a once in a lifetime trip. Widen your eating window just a bit so you don’t feel deprived. You can always tighten it up once you’re back home. The best part of IF is it’s flexibility! Have fun on your trip.
